Our Story

Steadywell was born from a personal story—a journey through crisis and care decisions. When founder Josh Kermisch’s mother suffered a stroke, her care wishes were buried in a fragmented system that couldn’t meet her needs, leading to unwanted, intensive interventions. Josh founded Steadywell to give patients a clear, proactive voice and empower them to navigate serious illness with support and dignity. Today, as healthcare shifts toward value, Steadywell partners with health systems and ACOs to deliver scalable, comprehensive support to patients with serious illness.
